Labour and Employment

Bishop & McKenzie has, over the years, offered its expertise in the area of labour and employment law to its clients whether they are employers or employees. In an area of law which is constantly evolving, it is important that both employers and employees have access to and receive timely and accurate advice and representation on a variety of issues. Towards this end, we have been able to assist our clients in a variety of ways which include:

  • Helping to identify and define the obligations of the employer and the employee to one another
  • Preparing employment agreements and contracts
  • Assessing and considering employment policies and, where appropriate, drafting policies and guidelines
  • Considering and interpreting the Employment Standards Code
  • Addressing Workers’ Compensation Board matters
  • Assisting in the resolution of wrongful dismissal complaints
  • Attending at arbitration proceedings, appearing before all levels of the courts and participating in applications for judicial review
