Historical Milestones
1920 - 1930
1923 E.T. Bishop began practice on his own, specializing in company law. He often received referrals from other lawyers and established the basis of the corporate law practice that continues to be the firm's focus even today. In these years, litigation files were sent to other firms.
1925 E.T. Bishop's contribution to the profession was recognized with his appointment as King's Counsel in December 1925.
1938 The firm name changed from "E.T. Bishop K.C." to "Bishop & Bishop" as Edward Eversley Bishop joined his father in the practice. Known as "Ted", the younger Bishop helped to expand the law practice until he went off to serve in the Air Force during World War II.
